Shravan celebration in Mahakal Temple Ujjain

 Shravan is celebrated by devotees for its great importance. The puja is devoted to Lord Shiva and his consort Parvati. Devotees keep vrats (fasts) on Mondays and Saturday in this period. While many temples conduct Pujas for Lord Shiva in Shravan, the Mahakal temple in Ujjain. It does the Bhasma Arati for devotees. It is called 'Mahakal' because in early times, the standard time of the entire world was determined from here, due to which this Jyotirlinga is named 'Mahakaleshwar'.
